I want to share small status update and my plans for the future. First of all a status update:
Mhykol Mines will continue within the next day or so – unfortunately the RFW videos and preparing for 1.8 has left little time for recording/editing Mhykol Mines.
Now my plans for the future – I want to continue expanding out what I offer to you including Minecraft. I have plans for dedicating a night each week for live-streaming a game once a week. For this I need your help though! Unfortunately my computer is not up to par to do live-streaming effectively.
Here are my current specs: Intel Core 2 Duo E8400, 4GB DDR2 Ram with an nVidia GeForce 8800 GT videocard. While this is sufficient for recording Minecraft and some games, but there are several games I cannot record smoothly. Also encoding a 15 minute episode takes at least 1.5 – 2 hours let alone live-streaming any game is out of the question.
Here is where YOU come in. I have priced out some upgrades for my current computer, but sadly I don’t have the spare income to afford the upgrade I need. So I’m asking you to donate, if you would like, to help pay for my computer upgrade.
Here is what I’m looking at getting:
Motherboard: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131651
Processor: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103849
RAM: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231314
This puts me at needing about $320 for upgrades. This upgrade will fix all of my current issues and allow me to expand out further for you guys.
Enough talk – where can you send your money you ask? Well click the nice donate button below!

Well – if you have not noticed yet Mhykol Mines has become Mhykol Plays and has a brand SPANKING new website design done by none other than de.monkeyz! The design is absolutely stunning. Also the new logo design was graciously created by none other than Coestar himself. I want everyone to please thank both of these gentlemen for their excellent work.
Edit: Oh yea – the FAQ and Map are still here, just haven’t found a way to impliment them into the new design yet

I just sent out the following email to everyone signed up for the CTR event. If you signed up and didn’t get an email make sure to check your spam filters. A copy of the email follows:
Thank you for signing up for the Mhykol Mines 100th Episode Event also
known at Capture The Record 3! I have been busy getting everything
prepared for the event and I am still ironing out the last details.
Over 150 of you signed up so the night of is going to be pure chaos.
I ask that you PLEASE be patient that night as I try my hardest to
make sure everything is running smoothly.
I first want to thank Xelatyper of Xelaservers.com for providing the
server, without his help and assistance there would be no way I could
host a game this large. I also want to give a huge shout-out to
Mirosta for making the CTR bukkit plugin. The features this plugin
provides will help make the game as smooth as possible.
About an hour or so before start time I will send out an email with
the mumble and server details. I have told all of my helpers that I
am enforcing a zero tolerance policy on spammers, trolls, beggers,
whiners, cheaters, and anything else that can ruin the fun for
everyone else. If you are talking too much in mumble you WILL be
muted, if you are found cheating you will be banned outright. I
expect all players to listen and follow all instructions I will give
in mumble on game night.
If you have further questions I can be found in The Spawn chat at
http://thespawn.net, just click on the chat link.
Remember, another email will arrive before the event with mumble and
server details.
Thanks,
Mike “Mhykol” Magnuson
